Francesco – A story to inspire hope

Francesco’s story, who accidentally discovered he had vitiligo and began his search for a treatment.

In 2013, by chance, I noticed a difference in color between my face and the area around my eyes.

At first I did not pay much attention to it, thinking my sunglasses were the reason for the white outline around my eyes.

But one day, I remember it as if it were yesterday, during a ceremony several people pointed out this difference to me and, in particular, one woman said: “You know that’s vitiligo!”

I did not even know what vitiligo was!

From that day on, my search began — first to understand what vitiligo was, and then to find a doctor who could treat me.

I cannot deny that when I understood what vitiligo really was, I felt terrible. I lived with the fear that it might worsen and, although I knew it was “only” an aesthetic issue, I also knew it would completely affect my social life and the way I related to others.

So began the desperate search for a specialist who could help me; I went to countless doctors, all with different opinions and different treatments, but none of them solved my problem.

Then one day, fate would have it, while reading a Facebook group, I came across the name of Dr. Menchini — my salvation.

A true professional in his field, a kind, available person and NEVER superficial.

Thanks to his treatments and my consistency in following everything he prescribed, in 2020 I recovered.
